I am a veteran who has over 26 years of clinical experience, working with children and adults in a variety of settings. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working closely with adults who are facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. Each of these conditions can significantly impact a person’s quality of life, and I am committed to providing the support needed to navigate these difficulties. I believe that a therapist should meet a client where they are at in life, and “walk” beside them in their journey, fostering a collaborative relationship that empowers the client to find their path forward.
In my practice, I offer a non-judgmental setting where clients can feel safe to discuss any challenges they may be facing, be it personal struggles, relational issues, or emotional distress. Building a foundation of trust and understanding is crucial. You can also find me on SonderMind, where I continue to connect with individuals seeking mental health support.
My diverse background has afforded me the opportunity to work with victims of trauma, including trafficking victims and others who have experienced severe abuse. This work is profoundly impactful and requires a compassionate approach that recognizes the complex nature of trauma and its effects on individuals’ lives. Additionally, I have worked in institutional settings providing care, as well as supervising other mental health care professionals. This experience has enriched my understanding of the various systems in place that affect mental health care and has allowed me to refine my therapeutic skills further.
I offer a strength-based approach in therapy, which focuses on identifying and leveraging the inherent strengths and resilience within each client. This perspective encourages empowerment and highlights the potential for personal growth. There are a lot of people who are struggling and do not know who to turn to. I strive to be that person who is there for them, helping them to unravel their challenges and to discover new possibilities for their lives. I do not see people as a diagnosis or a label; rather, I view each individual as a unique person with their own story, experiences, and potential.
I believe my path in life is to help people be the best that they can be, providing them with the tools and support they need to overcome obstacles and to thrive. My commitment to this journey is unwavering, and I look forward to walking alongside others as they embark on their path to healing and growth.
